Responsible Conduct of 研究 (软) Training

Training in responsible 和 ethical re搜索 practices is an integral part of preparing academic professionals to conduct re搜索. The National Science Foundation (NSF), the National 研究院 of 健康 (国家卫生研究院), 和 the National Institute of Food 和 Agriculture (NIFA) have requirements for training in the Responsible 和 Ethical Conduct of 研究 (RECR)/Responsible Conduct of 研究 (软).

NSF

Effective July 31, 2023, proposals submitted to the NSF must include a plan to provide appropriate training 和 oversight in the responsible 和 ethical conduct of re搜索 to all undergraduate students, graduate students, 博士后 研究人员, 教师 和 senior personnel who will be supported by NSF to conduct re搜索. Training must include mentor training 和 mentorship.

Who must complete training: Undergraduate students, graduate students, 博士后 研究人员, 教师 和 senior personnel

国家卫生研究院

国家卫生研究院 requires that all trainees, fellows, participants, 和 scholars receiving support through any 国家卫生研究院培训, career development award (individual or institutional), re搜索 education grant, 和 dissertation re搜索 grant must receive instruction in responsible conduct of re搜索.  This applies to the following 国家卫生研究院 activity codes:  D43, D71, F05, F30, F31, F32, F33, F34, F37, F38, K01, K02, K05, K07, K08, K12, K18, K22, K23, K24, K25, K26, K30, K99/R00, KL1, KL2, R25, R36, T15, T32, T34, T35, T36, T37, T90/R90, TL1, TU2, 和U2R.  This policy also applies to any other 国家卫生研究院-funded programs supporting re搜索 training, career development, or re搜索 education that require instruction in responsible conduct of re搜索 as stated in the relevant funding opportunity announcements.

*In addition, an eight-hour face-to-face training is required for those receiving 国家卫生研究院 funding.

NIFA

NIFA states that “institutions that conduct USDA-funded extramural re搜索 must foster an atmosp在这里 conducive to re搜索 integrity…. By accepting a NIFA award the grantee assures that program directors, 教师, undergraduate students, graduate students, 博士后, 研究人员, 和 any staff participating in the re搜索 project receive appropriate training” in the responsible 和 ethical conduct of re搜索.

  • Please note that the re搜索 office requires a minimum score of 80% on the final score 和 the scores of all the individual modules.
  • All modules do not have to be completed during a single online session. To re-enter the course, remember to SAVE your username 和 password.
  • After completing your course, save a copy of the Completion Report for your records 和 route it to your 教师 member/project PI.
